DNA Nucleotides Tuning Forks

Model TF0013

The DNA Nucleotides Tuning Forks are a set of 4 forks, one for each mid-range tone (C#) for each nucleotide of the DNA. They come from the research of Susan Alexjander in Partnership with Biologist David Deamer.

The vibrations of DNA were measured using an infrared spectrophotometer. Each base of DNA is exposed to infrared light. Then the wavelengths each base absorbs from the infrared light are measured. Since each base has a slightly different atomic structure, it will vibrate in a unique manner. The possibilities with these tuning forks are extraordinary.
