Friction Measurement Apparatus

Model HV-EXP2650
Technical Description This item of measuring equipment is used to determine coefficients of friction experimentally. Several different pairs of materials with varying surface finishes can be investigated. During this process, the specimen under examination is stationary and the supporting friction surface is pulled past it. This results in a stable, easy to read force measurement. The measuring range is between 02N with 0.1N resolution. The force gauge has a particularly easy to read to scale so that it can be read from a distance. An electrical synchronous motor drives the supporting friction surface. The drive provides two constant speeds. The normal force can be adjusted by adding weights. The sturdybenchtop unit was specially designed as a student experiment..
