Highly useful for sampling cohsionless soils. Consists of asplit tube accommodating ten thin brass rigs 2.5 inchdiameter, 1" high. A shoe with a hardened cutting edge isscrewed at one end. A driving head with a ball check valve isfitted at the other end. The flap mounted inside the cuttingshoe prevent the cohesion less soil falling down while liftingthe samler.
