Single Stage Helical Gears

Single Stage Helical Gears

Model EGM005

1. Single stage Helical Gear models comprise of teeth on cut at an angle to the face of the gear. When two teeth on a helical gear system come in contact, it starts at one end of the tooth and gradually spreads as the gears rotate, until the two teeth are in full arrangement.
2. This steady arrangement makes helical gears function much more easily and gently than spur gears. This is why helical gears are preferred for car transmissions.
3. The angle of the teeth on helical gears creates a thrust load on the gear when they mesh. Devices that use helical gears have bearings that can support this thrust load.
